Labrador Park Excursion

Splendid! Thats the word i use to describe yesterdays outing with the students from Project Azam. For those who doesn't know what Project Azam is, its an education programme organise by the social development department of En-Naeem Mosque to provide free education sevices such as tutoring, counselling and religious studies free, for those needy students. My friends and i organise this outing for them to congratulate them for their success in passing their en-of-the-year examinations. It was fun, we played soccer, netball, motivation games, pray together and ate together. Manage to put it all in one picture, enjoy!

Born To Be Wild

Boys night out. This picture was taken 2 days before Eidul Adha. All of us were @ the mosque waiting for the arrival of the sheeps from Jurong Port. While waiting all of us decide to go for a spin, 1 car and 3 motorbikes... As you can see us in the picture below.

'Young and Dangerous'

Eidul-

This is the most important celebration in Islam. It takes place on the tenth day of the twelfth and last month (Eid ul-Hijjah) of the Islamic.

Eid ul-Adha celebrates the occasion when Abraham (Ibrahim) was willing to sacrifice his son to show his obedience to God (Allah). Muslims all around the world will celebrate this day, although it has particular significance for pilgrims who at this time will be completing a pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca (Makkah). The day begins with a sacrifice of an animal in commemoration of Abraham's sacrifce of a lamb in place of his son. One-third of the meat is given to the poor, and the rest shared by family and friends.
This year, we had our Korban Hari Raya Haji on the 20th December 2007. It was so much fun, from morning all to the evening. Everyone enjoyed themselves while showing tremendous amount of teamwork and coordination to ensure smooth operations.

Al-Fataa BBQ

Last Friday, 12th December 2007, Al-Fataa Youth had a retreat at Pasir Ris Park. We had so much fun, bbq, playing soccer, sitting by the beach, star gazing... hehehe. Love them all. Here are the pics.

En-Naeem Mosque Family Carnival

Alhamdulillah, last 2 weeks (sorry for the late posting), 2/12/07, En-Naeem Mosque had a family carnival held within its vicinity. This project organised by me and my project team turn out to be a very sucessful project. It was unexpected, the crowd, the response, everything went pretty well that day. I would like to personally thank those in my committee, Mr Mutaliff, Ust Muhd, Ust Hisham, Ustz Zuwainah, Ustz Karmilah and her asatizahs, Teacher Sanifah and her teachers, Zul, Anwar, Juli, Al-Fataa, Khalifah, An-Niswa, and all those who are responsible in organising this project. Thank you very much!

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Journey of the Past and Present

I'm on off today, yeah after 2 weeks since the En-Naeem Mosque Family Carnival, i've decided to claim one day off from it. Lots of things happened today, hmm, emotionally, spiritually..... here's what i call "Journey of the Past and Present."

The Revelation (around 1.30am)

My close buddy, friend, reveals something to me which opens up my mind and gives me a clearer picture of things that is happening around me and him currently. He reveals something that he thought might make me feel disappointed last night. Well, to tell you the truth bro, i do, a little, but dont worry, i'm in fact, would like to thank you for being frank, at least i dont have to carry on with the hope....... you know what i mean. *Psst, jangan tunggu lama2, nanti terlepas. Bro, i appreciate you, your presence and everything that you ever told me and shared with me. Lets pray for this friendship and brotherhood between us to remain strong for time to come. Ameen...

"Friendship is always a sweet responsibilty, never an opportunity."

The Meeting with the Past (around 12noon)

Went to Geylang Wet Market today with my mum to shop for groceries, chicken, fishes and many more. I was there around 11am, to my surprise, on normal days, the traffic and waiting for a carpark place was horrible. Got to wait 20mins for someone to drive off his car for me a chance to park my car and search for my Mum in the crowd who had earlier allight to do her shopping first. Later i found her over at the butcher stall buying some meat.

I help her with the groceries, carry it here and there while she continues her shopping. After she had everything that is needed she came to me and ask "Wan, nak makan apa?" "Its ok mum, you go ahead and buy what food you want, i'll stay here and wait."

While waiting over at the corner, watching people walking pass, with plastic bags on their hand, different colours and sizes, old and young doing their shopping. As i continue to stand there, a couple sitting at the end of the alley i was standing caught my attention. Hmmm, very familiar faces, where have i seen them before.....hmmmm....hmmmm, ah! they were my friend's (ex) parents. I approached them, "Assalamualaikum Cik" hmmm from the look of his eyes, he must be wondering, "Who is this kid...." "Oh, Wan......" "Not working today?" he asked, "No, i'm not, got a day off." The chat goes on for a while, till my mum came over and shake hand with her mum. Perspiring all over, probably because of the load i was carrying and plus the crowd....... i decide to take my leave....... exchange our salaams and off i go.

The moment i saw them, my thoughts of the past started to come again, the memories i had...... putting all the negative things aside, gosh, how i wish to have that kind of feeling again, except this time, i want it to last. Hahahah! enough said Wan. Stop!

The Treat (around 2.30pm)

It has been a while since I promise to give both my Busu and Pakbusu a treat, and so, today, since I’m on off, I decide to treat both of them, my mum and my sis to Seoul Garden. All this years they’ve always been there to give me support, giving me advice, bought me gifts, and done so many things for me and all that made us close to one another….. Thank You for your guidance and sacrifices all these years.... Luv Ya!

Alright Folks, that’s all I have to say today, its been a wonderful day….. got to do so much things….. I’m happy :)

*I’m still waiting for ur reply……….

Best Of Friends

Friends that watch your back
Friends that play with your heart
All act the same from the start
Before you know it some disappear
Others stay beside you for life
Those are the friends
The best friends

First Appearance, First Impression

Salaams to all friends and bloggers out there. This is my first time doing this...... blogging. I'm still very new here, so, please guide me through all the things i need to know about blogging aite. Well i guess, all thanks to my wonderful friends, Doraemon, Batman and Skinny Deep who promised to help me in designing my blog. We'll see abt that! hehehe My name is Abd Ridzuan, 25years of age, and still still still single + Available.... hehehe. Working full time, as a project officer in En-Naeem Mosque also known as Hougang Mosque. I was from Elling Primary School, Upper Aljunied Sec, Upper Serangoon Sec and Temasek Poly. Very cheerful and adventurous. I would say that i love to play badminton, hiking and camping at times, fishing with my friends, blogging (soon) and BBQ.

Life's been so far so good, mixed feelings i must say. Nevertheless, i am still thankful for all the good things that had happened to me. As a saying goes:

"Count your blessings, not your worries."

Believe me, try to think and ponder of the quote above, and you'll realise how many good things had happened to us all than those worries that we tend to brood over for days, months and even years that it had blinded us all from realising. Its all in the mind and in your heart. Life's too short to be worried all the time..... Positive always, i'm trying......

"I cried when i had no shoes, till i saw a man with no legs." persian quote

Think and ponder........
